Perpetual Gratitude

Psalm 9:1 tells us_ “I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.” In this article, we chose to reminisce of the new developments we have experienced so far. This and many more articles on our page are our way of expressing our gratitude to God by expressing His wonderful deeds in our lives. Recently at the home, there have been a number of exciting developments. Some of these include upper-class graduations, the purchase of a new school bus, and that acquisition of a designated housing for the orphan girls. They have been able to live beyond the ordinary limitations of most orphans around the globe and enjoy privileges that others would term as a luxury to others like them. All this would never have been possible without the mercy of God that created a bridge for us. The children have been excited with the new developments and have truly seen the hand of God at work for their advantage.

In addition to the other structures we have in place like the households within the home, the recent developments make it all the more vivid to the children that God can enable them to live beyond the circumstances in which they have found themselves. Being members of the GHMI every addition of amenities is counted as an increase to every child. They have embraced this community as family, and just like every child in a normal family set up would feel the need to identify with their parents’ belongings, the children identify with every blessing and progress. They are able to look at amenities like the school bus and recognize it as “our” bus.

We are grateful to God that in addition to ability to cater to the physical well-being of the children, we have also been able to give them an understanding of how the kingdom of God works. They are experiencing the life of sonship through the sense of belonging and family they have at the home. The foster parents have gone above and beyond to enact the Trinity in the best way possible.

Other progresses like the upper-class graduations have given us more reason to express our gratitude to God. All the hard work and discipline that the children put in pays off with a promotion and we are sure to appreciate them in the best way possible. All the recent developments mentioned are just some of the many reasons to thank God. They are our crowning glory that covers all the disappointments and challenges that have come with growing the orphanage to where it is today.

Our desire is that we develop perpetual gratitude that supersedes all the blessings we have experienced. The children have been taught to gratify God in and out of season and the great milestones we are experiencing as the GHMI family are fuel to keep thanking God for the far we have come. Most of all, we are thankful to God who continuously answers the prayers and petitions we present to him even in accordance with Philippians 4:6.

We, the entire team and staff at GHMI rejoice that we are enabled to be acting as a “foster parent” to the children. We have our supplies because God never fails to supply our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. You, our partners and donors are an integral part of the supply in Christ Jesus and therefore, we are so grateful to God for His gift of His Son. We are rejoicing in the blessing each generous action in faith your support has provided Give Hope Ministries International since it started 10 years ago. As we share in our actions to observe the times in the children’s journey by the side of our Lord to learning to be “overcomers”, breaking the cycle of poverty in their lives and bringing this forward to others as living testimonies, we give thanks for the Love of the Holy Father and the gift of the Holy Spirit so we ourselves are not left Orphans as Jesus stated.

We are humbled and grateful. Join us in giving Glory to God for his indescribable gift, in Christ Jesus, birth, and life on earth as Emanuel. Suffering for us, walking in the same challenges we face daily and showing us that HE calms every storm for us. May each of you be as blessed as you are being fully accepted in the beloved.

In Christ Jesus.

Tarry in Jerusalem

Just last month, we celebrated the jolly Easter season and Christ is risen! Upon His resurrection, Jesus told His disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with power according to Luke 24:49. They were to wait on the Lord to equip them to go out and preach the gospel to the ends of the earth, which they did. In later books of the Bible, we can see the disciples walking in demonstration of power. For us to see all that, they had to wait until the Lord endued them with power and sent them out to different places around the world.

At GHMI, the foster parents and fraternity as a whole have been given the responsibility to equip the little ones before they go out to share what they have received. This home is their Jerusalem, the place of preparation and equipping before they go out into the world to give from the abundance of their hearts. The children are expected to feed on the word of God even as their needs are taken care of. Our Lord Jesus already paid the full price that we may walk in abundance both physically and spiritually.

Our children are already walking in fulfillment of this scripture. They have consistent Bible study patterns and practice what they learn among themselves. The training they are undergoing as disciples of Christ is preparing them for a greater and brighter destiny ahead. The foster parents have taken it upon themselves to teach them and guide them accordingly. Just as other biological parents are commanded to bring up a child in the ways of the Lord in Proverbs 22:6, our foster parents are giving the best training they can while the children are in their Jerusalem phase.

These children have laid down everything in their lives, including their biological families, to tarry in this Jerusalem. We are confident the Lord will endow them with the power to make good disciples for Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God.

Jesus Paid is All

The Easter season is a special time at the home because the children are reminded of how much God cares about them. Whenever they read through what Jesus did for them on the cross, they become more aware of how much they are cared for. Their eyes are open to the fact that God went to the extremes to secure them a place with Him. The foster parents in the home have been such good role models in making the children understand this experientially.

Whenever the foster parents teach the children that God loved the world even to the point of His son’s death, they are building their faith tremendously. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Once the children understand the extent of God’s love for them, it is easier for them to open up to being loved in their new home despite all they have been through. This home is a testimony of the Lord’s love. Different circumstances led to the children finding themselves in this home, but we overlook it all and focus on giving them the best life we can.

In the same way, the Lent and Easter season comes with great hope and enthusiasm for everyone at the home. The worst possible case scenario of any challenge is death, and even that was conquered by Jesus Christ. As we constantly remember His suffering, death, and ascension, we are confident that not even death can subdue us. God’s covering has been evident for us. As a family, we rejoice more when we remember that Jesus paid it all for us and that we are now fully covered under His wings. Not only have we seen the fruits of salvation through Jesus Christ, but continue to live them.

We, the entire team, especially the children are so grateful to God for His gift of His Son. We are rejoicing in the blessing of each generous action in the faith of your support since Give Hope Ministries International started 10 years ago. As we observe this time of Lent and the journey of our Lord to the Cross overcoming death, payment for sins, and showing us the Love of the Holy Father and the gift of the Holy Spirit so we ourselves are not left Orphans as Jesus stated. We are humbled and grateful. Join us in giving Glory to God for his indescribable gift, in Christ Jesus, birth, life on earth as Emanuel. Suffering for us, walking in the same challenges we face daily and showing us that HE calms every storm for us. He gave His body as the bread of our lives and He asked that whether we eat or drink, let us do it in remembrance of him and to the Glory of God.

May each of you be as blessed as you are being fully accepted in the beloved.

In Christ Jesus.
